Project Paleo: Sweet Devils →
Made these last night for appetizer. Don’t usually indulge in bacon, but it was well worth it. These were amazing! I will be making more of these over the holidays.

I was inspired to create this recipe over Thanksgiving when I accidentally took a bite of sweet potatoes at the same time as a deviled egg. And this sweet twist on deviled eggs turned out delicious! Next time...

Change is Good
2011 - swapped about half of my normal workouts for short (under 20 minutes) HIIT. Late this summer began Paleo Diet. Feel lighter, stronger, healthier than ever. Oh…add younger to that list.

Tri'ing to Find Balance and the Fountain of Youth
I have been working out consistently, that is just what I do and who I am. I am proud to say that my workouts are always changing and I would like to think - evolving. My family tends to identify the changes as “fads”.
Running since adolescence, I was plagued with numerous repetitive use injuries that were interrupting my running and also my everyday life. So a number of years...

What defines a triathlete?
Am I any less of a triathlete if I have no desire to participate in an Ironman? For that matter, can I call myself a runner if I never run another marathon?
I define myself by the journey and not by the destination, and in doing so I can answer YES to the above questions. Last summer for instance, I trained as if I were racing, but never raced. I have run since I was a kid…that is just...

No Excuses - Indoor Training Keeps Body & Spirit...
I am sick of all the snow and cold in Richmond, VA this winter. Not being used to this type of winter, I have used it as an excuse not to train way more than I should.
Today I am going to put my bike on the trainer and ride for an hour. I have also pulled out my jump rope, exercise ball, dumbbells, balance board and resistance bands.
The hardest part is getting changed and onto the bike. My...

Snow in Richmond Again
Once again, Richmond is being blanketed in snow as I write. This is the third snow storm since mid December. Extended periods of cold temps in addition to more than a couple inches of snow is relatively rare for central VA. All this frozen precip is really putting a damper on my running. Did manage to squeeze in a short run with Bandit around 9:30 AM.
